How Much Does House Cleaning Cost in St. Petersburg, FL?

It’s the first question almost everyone asks, and the honest answer is “it depends.” That’s not a dodge. Two homes with the same number of bedrooms can take very different amounts of time to clean, and the price follows the time.

What we can do is show you exactly what moves the number, give you a starting point, and help you tell a fair quote from one that’s too good to be true. This applies whether you’re in a St. Pete bungalow, a family home in Seminole, or a beach condo in Madeira Beach.

What a cleaning costs in St. Pete

At Tampa Bay Home Services, a deep clean starts at around $150 for a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom home. Larger homes, more bathrooms, and heavier cleaning needs move the price up from there.

Recurring cleanings (weekly, biweekly, or monthly) typically run $165 to $205 per visit for an average 3 bedroom, 2 bath home. Move-out cleanings typically run $200 to $600, depending on size and condition.

You can see your own price online in a few minutes. Every booking is then confirmed with a quick phone call from our team, so there’s a real person checking that the quote fits your home before anyone shows up.

What changes the price

The size of the home

Bedrooms, bathrooms, and square footage are the starting point for every quote. Bathrooms matter more than most people expect. A bathroom has more surfaces to scrub per square foot than any other room, so a 3 bedroom, 3 bath home usually costs more than a 4 bedroom, 2 bath. Walk-in showers take more time, especially in areas with relatively hard water.

The type of cleaning

A regular cleaning maintains a home that’s already in good shape. A deep clean gets into the build-up: baseboards, ceiling fans, cabinet fronts, soap scum, the inside of the microwave. A move-in or move-out cleaning goes further, into empty cabinets, drawers, and appliances. Each step up takes more time, so it costs more. If you’re not sure which you need, our guide to regular vs. deep cleaning walks through the difference.

How often you book

A home cleaned every week or two stays close to clean between visits, so each visit takes less time than a once-in-a-while cleaning. That’s why the first visit is usually priced as a deep clean, and the regular visits after it cost less.

The condition of the home

A home that hasn’t been cleaned in a few months, or one with pets, kids, or a recent renovation, will take longer. Be honest about this when you request a quote. It isn’t a judgment. It just helps us spend enough time to do the job right, so there are no surprises on either side.

Florida extras

Some things are just part of living here. Sand tracked in from the beach, mildew in bathroom grout, and salt film on sliders and windows near the water all add time. If you’re in a beach-area rental or a waterfront home in Madeira Beach, mention it up front.

Getting in

You don’t have to be home, but the team does need a way in. If they arrive and can’t get into the home or building, there’s a travel charge, so share your entry plan (key, code, front desk) when you book.

Why the cheapest quote can cost more

Some of the lowest prices in Pinellas County come from solo cleaners or companies that use independent contractors. Sometimes that works out fine. But a lower price often means no workers’ comp, no bonding, no training, and no one accountable if something breaks or someone gets hurt in your home. Our post on W-2 employees vs. 1099 contractors explains why that matters.

When you compare quotes, compare what’s included, too. Ask each company:

  • Is this price for a regular or a deep clean?
  • Do you bring your own supplies and equipment?
  • Are the cleaners employees or contractors?
  • Are they background-checked, bonded, and insured, and can you show me proof?
  • What happens if something is missed or damaged?

How to get an accurate price

The more a company knows about your home, the closer the quote will be to the final price. Have the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, rough square footage, any pets, and when the home was last professionally cleaned ready before you ask.
